Dr. Diana Z. Rodriguez is the 16th Chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District. She was appointed by the SBCCD Board of Trustees in 2021 to lead a system that serves 30,000 students through Crafton Hills College, San Bernardino Valley College, a workforce training center, and KVCR public radio and television.

As chief executive officer, she leads a district that contributes more than $723 million annually to the Inland Empire economy.

In partnership with the SBCCD Board of Trustees, she advances four strategic priorities:

  • Eliminate barriers to student access and success
  • Build a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist institution
  • Lead and partner in addressing regional issues
  • Ensure fiscal accountability and long-term sustainability

Like many SBCCD students, Chancellor Rodriguez is the first in her family to earn a college degree. She began at Palo Verde College and transferred to California State University, San Bernardino, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing, an MBA, a master’s degree in education, and a Doctor of Education from National University.

She previously served as President of San Bernardino Valley College from 2016 to 2021. During her tenure, faculty and staff advanced student-centered strategies that earned the college the highest level of accreditation.

She brings more than 30 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member and senior administrator focused on student success and community partnerships. Prior to leading San Bernardino Valley College, she served as Vice President of Student Services and Interim Vice President of Academic Services at Las Positas College, and as Vice President of Student Services at Palo Verde College in Blythe.

She has been recognized with honors including the 2018 Woman of the Year Award for California’s 47th Assembly District and the 2026 Educator of the Year Award from the Inland Empire Economic Partnership.
